    Hey everyone,

Welcome to the very first little corner of Beach Bums.

We’ll be honest - it’s a bit empty in here right now. You’re early. Like, very early. But that’s also what makes it exciting.

Our plan is to keep building this into something genuinely useful and fun for naturists, nude beach lovers, curious first-timers, and anyone who just wants more of what we’re doing with Nude Beach Map.

Over the next little while, you’ll see more content being added each week — videos, guides, updates, behind-the-scenes stuff, partner discounts, and hopefully a few extras we haven’t even thought of yet.

We’re also working on adding new partners all the time, so the discounts and Beach Bum perks should keep growing as we do.

But more than that, your support helps us keep Nude Beach Map alive and actually useful - updating beach info, checking details, adding new places, helping newbies understand naturism, and hopefully making clothing-optional travel feel a little less intimidating for people.

We know not everyone is into forums or chatting online, and that’s totally fine. No pressure to post every day or become a keyboard warrior.

But we’d love for this to become a friendly place to talk about naturist beaches, resorts, events, trips, questions, tips, awkward first-time moments, hidden gems, and all the good stuff that doesn’t always fit on Instagram.

    So… tell us about you.

    Where are you from?
What’s your favourite nude beach or naturist place?
Are you a long-time naturist or just starting to dip a toe in?
And what would you love to see from Beach Bums?

Thanks again for being here at the beginning. Seriously. This little community exists because of people like you.

    Matt & Megan

      Hello Beach Bums!

Happy to be joining and building up what I hope to be a great little community.

A bit about myself. I am relatively new to the whole social nudity scene (just a little over a year). However, like most people once I tried it I was hooked instantly. My wife, and some of our friends first experience was at Prior Lake on a visit to Vancouver Island, after returning to the lower mainland we decided to check out Wreck Beach and our only regret was that we hadnt visited sooner.

Since then we have become Wreck Beach regulars and are there practicallt every weekend. Being the millennials that we are I have tried to make a serious effort to get more people my age to check out Wreck, and also try to combat a lot of the negativity surrounding Wreck.

A huge turning point in my journey was reading Matt and Megan's article on young people and nude beaches. I do believe there is a desire for people to give social nudity a try, they just need a little more assurance that they'll be safe in their experience.

Enough of my ramblings. If you're looking for information on being nude in the lower mainland and Fraser valley (beaches, saunas, clothing optional swims) I'm happy to share my wealth of knowledge.

Greetings folks. Long time nudist, looking forward to seeing how the community pans out over time.

My name's Pete and I'm from the UK. Have been into clothes-free living since the 80s when I discovered how good this way of living felt and haven't looked back.

As for favourite place; there isn't one specific place I love. Ultimately so long as it's warm and I don't get harassed for being clothes-free then I'm happy. I've been naked on many of the UKs most well known nude beaches, as well as enjoying various nude swims, sun clubs and I've even managed to take part once in the London (the proper one in England ;) ) WNBR. When I was with my ex-wife we used to frequent many of the nude beaches between Valencia and Alicante. It's a gorgeous part of the world and I recommend it to anyone.

In terms of what to expect from Beach Bums; I think the main thing is to keep it friendly and ensure that those who think this place is a place of inappropriate activity are kept out. Other than that it's just about building international friendships as far as I'm concerned.

Love these introductions - thanks so much to both of you for getting the conversation started.

Russell, it’s brilliant hearing how quickly Wreck became such a big part of your life, and especially that you’re encouraging more people our age to give it a go. That fear of not knowing what to expect is such a huge barrier for first-timers, so people sharing honest experiences really helps.

Pete, you’ve definitely got a few decades of naturist knowledge on us! Valencia and Alicante are two areas we’d love to explore more, and we completely agree about keeping this a friendly, genuine space where people can actually build connections.
Since you've been visiting naturist spaces since the 80s - do you think they are getting more / less popular or has it stayed the same?

Hello everyone, we are from the ancient civilization of China. My wife and I prefer naturalism and especially enjoy relaxing and having fun on nude beaches. My wife also likes to wear sexy bikinis on public beaches. In China, there are no places where people can openly engage in nudity. We can only relax ourselves when traveling to Europe or other places. We have participated in nude activities on nude beaches and nude resorts in Europe and Thailand. We hope to communicate with nude enthusiasts from all over the world and help us plan our next nude trip.Hello everyone, we are from the ancient civilization of China. Greetings from Los Angeles. I’ve been a social nudist for nearly 30 years, but my wife from my previous marriage didn’t get it - so it was tough. But i am remarried and my new wife loves the lifestyle. We traveled to St Martin last year and stayed at a nudist resort and loved it. We also spent some quality time at Orient Beach, and met some amazing people. We will be in Zipolite in January and looking forward to meeting Matt; Megan, Francelli and many other like minded people. Cheers all,
                Chris & Chhaya

@nudebeachmap It does help me that I've got a couple of decades of life from before you were both born lol On the plus side it does mean that if I've experienced something potentially that others haven't then I can share this info.

As for popularity - I think it's a tough question to answer. The world is a different place now than it was in the 80s and 90s, and some venues popular 40yrs ago now no longer exist, but there are new venues which have popped up to replace them. I do think the lockdowns helped some people, especially here in the UK in terms of providing them with the space and time to discover recreational time that was / is clothes-free but that seems to be quietening down as people slowly get back to "normal" - for want of a better way to put it. Really I don't think there's any massive difference for UK based venues, beaches especially. Studland seems to be just the same now as it used to be - its busy or quiet based on whether it's a warm summer's day and whether it's a weekend.

When I made it to Spain for my first foreign naturist experiences this was with my ex to visit her parents for my first time who live in a village south of Valencia. I requested a beach day and we all, myself, my ex and her parents, went to the local nude beach for a day to chill on the sand. It was only the second day that I'd met my in-laws and we're all just chilling nude on the beach! Quite the experience I must say. That was in the early 00s and we had several days where we did the beach and the "busy-ness" of the beach depended on the day. Some days it was really quiet with very few people, other days it was packed and you saw everyone from retired couples to young families with their children to groups of teenagers all as a group on the nude beach just enjoying the sand and sun. Over a period of 15yrs whilst I was with my ex we visited several times a year and the beaches stayed the same tbh - busy based on the day and people's free time.

@alannamckenna @alannamckenna Hi Alanna, I don't know if you're aware of this, so do please forgive me if this was something you already knew about, but if you search for the AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation) they have a website which lists various locations across the States where you can partake in (legal) clothes-free time. Florida is definitely a great place for nude beaches with several along the coast close to the Spaceport. So you could be nude on the beach and at the same time watch a Falcon 9 launch!

Alternatively, if this ends up being easier in terms of logistics, but a vacation here in Europe might be a more prudent idea as we have hundreds of free beaches where you can strip off, safe in the knowledge that you won't see colleagues or family on the neighbouring textile beach lol

Spain I would suggest to be the best for beaches, France is awesome for stunning campsites in the middle of nowhere, and Germany / Austria offer nude spa facilities so you can sauna as originally intended, without your swimsuit getting in the way. Italy is less nude-friendly but does have some designated nude beaches, or you could try places like Greece and the Istria coastline where nude recreation is pretty common. The UK has some great beaches and sun clubs you can visit - British Naturism is a great place to check out what's available.

Obviously wherever you do choose to visit do please check out the local laws as some countries are more uptight than others. Best to check the local Naturist Association's website for whichever place you decide on.
